Crafting a Little Hope

I would like to point an amazing organization—and an amazing woman. Jade Sims is the founder of Craft Hope, a volunteer organization that designs, creates, and donates handmade crafts and necessities to those less fortunate. As Jade states, “It is our hope to combine our love for crafting and desire to help others into a project to make a difference around the world.”

Currently, Craft Hope has completed four projects:

•    Pillowcase dresses and shorts for an orphanage in Brazil (27 pieces sent)
•    Soft-bodied boy and girl dolls for an orphanage in Nicaragua (405 dolls sent)
•    Blankets, booties, and hats for newborns in India (2,809 pieces sent)
•    Sock monkeys for juvenile burn victims in Sacramento, CA (227 monkeys sent)

All items are handmade by loving volunteers. Volunteers also send fabric and other materials to make items to Craft Hope.

What an awe-inspiring story. Jade has two children, with a third on the way—yet she has found the time to help those who so desperately need something made with love.
