With twin 1-year olds, life is hectic. To make feeding time easier, I have set aside a shelf in the refrigerator just for them. I stock it with meals and snacks, already cut into bite sized pieces so that daddy, the babysitter and I can quickly get a well rounded meal or snack on the table.

I organize my e-mails. I select to to show just the unread e-mails. Then I breeze through them and mark with a flag if they need a response, follow-up, or are important. Once I get through all of the unread e-mails. I select to show just the flagged e-mails. One by one, I go through the e-mails and send a reply when necessary, download any attachments needed, file important e-mails in categorized folders for what they pertain to, and then complete any other follow-up needed, such as visiting twitter or a social network to respond to new followers or comments. Breaking it down into these steps allows me to piece it up if I need to stop and take care of my kids.

I learned about a great idea from the women in my local Mothers of Multiples Club - "Kid of the Day." With 3 kids - twins age 4 and a 2-year-old - we had many fights over choosing TV shows, who sits in which spot in the car, etc. Now, I write each child's initial on our large wall calendar, in his or her special color, and the fighting has virtually evaporated. When there is a question, we just look at the calendar - even the 2-year-old can see that if there isn't a blue mark on that day, then it's not his day! Less kid conflict leaves me with more mental and emotional energy for fun with them!

I keep a huge food magnet on my refrigerator door, and I use it to collect all of my daughter's papers. It allows me to scan through on a daily basis for school notes and items that are due. This way, we never lose an important message. I periodically go through the collection and place them in date order. It's a good way to review absence hotline requirements and important school, music lessons, and other numbers and reminders.

After having many a gift card go by the wayside or lose value because we couldn't find, my husband and I purchased an index card box with the alphabetical dividers and we use that for our gift cards. It allows us to keep them in one spot and organized. We have not lost a gift card since.

For my three daughters, I don't hang up all their clothes, I put together outfits and roll them together and put them into a shoe sorter that hangs in their closet. That way, they can choose their own outfits for the day and it saves space in their closet. It is also much faster and easier to put their clothes away.

I organize my coupons in a coupon organizer so that when I go through the grocery paper that week I can quicky pull the coupons for the sale items.

My calander on my phone is the only way I keep any sanity. Then my phone broke, I am back to using a dinosaur phone without all the features and I am lost! I have scraps of paper everywhere reminding me of things I need to get done! In April I can get a new phone, in the meantime I am lost

With four kids I was getting lost in the sea of paperwork from school for each child: tests, notices, lunch menus, homework, etc. So I got a nine-slot cubby system that I attached to the bottom of a cabinet in my kitchen. Now, not only does each child have their own cubby, but there's a cubby for bills, supermarket circulars and even cubbies for my husband and me!

When I receive my mail and have bills to be paid, I put the due date on the outside of the envelope and file them in order due in an organizer (so I won't pay anything late). Thanks for the giveaway!

Me too! I do the exact same thing.

Before I go to bed each night, I tape an index card to the kitchen cabinet where I store the coffee mugs. I write on it if my kids need to pack or buy lunch the next day, what permission forms must be returned, and what the "specials" are - i.e. if one of them has gym class and needs to wear athletic shoes. Then, I don't have to worry my foggy morning brain will forget to make the pb&j!

I don't have much use for a traditional briefcase but I use a plastic folder with a string tie flap to transport paperwork back and forth from home to work to car. That way anything I've printed out at work, even just coupons and recipes, can get to my car and home safely and without getting blown away or wet from the rain! They're lightweight and cheap to replace too.

I touch it once! Whether it's the mail, a toy that needs to go upstairs, something that goes in the garbage, a pair of shoes I need to put away. Once! Then it is done and I don't have to waste my time touching it again. It works for me!

Every weekend, I take time to restock my cabinets and label bags for the kids' snacks and lunches for the upcoming week. It's so hectic in the mornings that just taking a few minutes on the weekend to start on this task saves precious time during the busy weekdays.

Before bed, I pack lunches for both children and put them in the fridge. If anything needs to be put in a thermos (warm food), I set the thermos on the counter, put a measuring cup of water in the microwave, and set the microwave to "delay start." By the time I'm out of the shower and in the kitchen, the water is warm and ready to heat the thermos. It also serves as a reminder to add the food-filled thermos to the lunch box!

I've designated one stair per person in our family of four where I put things as I find them around the house: shoes, books, schoolwork, sports clothes, etc. And a plastic bag on the handle of my closet at the foot of the stairs. At the end of the day, everyone has a chance to simply bring up their "pile" to their room and put it away. If not, they know: if it's there on the stairs at night when I go to bed (around 10pm), it goes straight into the plastic bag and out the next day (or two) to a charity nearby that collects clothes, toys, etc for poor kids in the Boston area.

To keep them contained and separate from the general snack supply, I keep my daughter's school snack options in a basket. This way, in the mornings, I'm never caught off guard that someone ate the snacks intended for school - and after a weekend, my daughter's excited to pick from a new assortment of snacks.

I utilize cute carry bags for my 5 year old daughter's different activities. Every weekend after laundry is done I fill the bags for each activity: polka dot drawstring has ballet and tap shoes, socks and leotard for Monday's dance class; mesh Hello Kitty bag has swimsuit, towel, clean underpants and warm up suit for Thursday's swim class; etc. This way, no matter what adult is handling the activity that day all the items required are in one central place ready to go when needed.

To keep recipes organized I tear the ones I want to make out of magazines (my own of course) and print other ones off. If they are a success they make it into my three ring binder in a plastic sleeve, this way next time I want to make it I can actually find it, and just wipe the splatters off and throw it back in the folder when I am done.

I pack my lunch and my daughter's lunch for daycare, then lay out our clothes for the next day, so we are at least ready, even if we wake up late or some other morning disaster strikes!

I have to go through my mail as soon as I walk through the door. Then I take it to work and settle all the immediate things during my lunch hour.

I tear out magazine receipes from magazines and keep them in my car in a folder so when I am not sure what to shop for I can just pick out a few on my way into the grocery store. It helps break me out of the "food slump" and the kids aren't tired of the same thing day after day.

I keep a basket at the top and at the bottom of the stairs. I fill the baskets with things that need to go either back upstairs or back downstairs. I then wait until the end of the day to switch the baskets and put things back.

I use the GroceryGadget app on my phone so I never lose my grocery list, always am able to jot down when I need something, and have an organized list when I get to the store!

I make sure everything is set up on the counter before I go to bed. Purse is ready, items for the kids, lunches all set up in the fridge. Then we can all make breakfast and head out the door in one charge! We even put the trash by the front door so we can grab it as we run out instead of making a trip at night. Streamlining it key for a family of 9.

One orgazational tip I have is to have a big box in each room. The kids stuff (that doesn't belong in that room) goes in that box and at the end of the day, they get their stuff and put it away. It makes things easier to clean Val Pearson lastnerve2000@gmail.com

I have one of the big recycle bags at the bottom of the steps and at the top of the steps. When I have somthing that goes up or down I put it in the bag. Things aren't lying around the house or out for people to see. The dog can't get into the papers that go up and I am not tripping over toys that need to go down.

I bought a MOMAgenda to help me sort out all the events for our 10 children and 2 grandchildren. This is the best investment I've ever made! It keeps me focused, on track, goal oriented and organized for each member of the family. I can have everything at the tip of my fingers, tabbed and sorted by topic and event or chore. I even have all the information I may need for emergencies complete with phone numbers, insurance card copies and family member information. Finally a planner that makes sense for a busy mom! I don't own this company but I'm sure glad someone is helping us busy moms be more efficient! I needed this!

When planning out my week in advance, I write down my family activities first and block out the time I want to spend with my family and highlight them in yellow. Then I schedule business and other appointments around my family. I highlight business in blue, things scheduled with friends in pink, etc. This way, I make sure I always have time for my family first.

I try to be paper-free as much as possible. If I can scan it and turn it into a PDF I can toss the paper. Even better is to "Print to PDF".

I own a Boutique that sells gifts, clothes, and most anything else. When I started my business I would write down my to do task on papers, or magnet on the fridge or text my husband to remind me to do it..LOL..and would have little papers scattered everywhere, so for Christmas this year my husband decided to buy me a blackberry phone to enter my data in because he got sick of seeing small papers scattered through out the house and cars. My blackberry is my life saver and keeps me well organized and I wouldn't know what to do without it. Good thinking for my husband. But now I still have all my coupons scattered out everywhere so this handy and stylish Card Cubby would be perfect for me to keep all those coupons in and my husband would be very thankful to not see coupons laying around the house anymore.
