Win It Wednesday - Artistic Sensations! - this giveaway is now closed

Artistic Sensations, "the one-stop-shop to create your child's dream room" began in the early 90's by Kim Gellman, an at-home mother of two young boys, when she realized that creating the "perfect" kid's dream room was not at all as easy as she had imagined. So, in 1996, Artistic Sensations was born to fulfill the needs of all those parents who desire unique, customized, high quality furniture, bedding, accessories and gift items for their infants and young children. The store offers hundreds of unique specialty items from dozens of top designers around the country.

"Because I said so" The phrase that means nothing and usually doesn't get the response desired, but just more "whys".

Oh gosh it's hard to narrow it down i've said so many! the one I hate most is "because I said so", I swore I'd never use that one but sometimes it's the best I can manage!

i swore i wouldn't spank, but i have

I'd have to agree with the previous comments, it's either "because I said so" or "because I'm the mom, that's why!"

My mom used to drive me nuts with one saying, "Pretty is as pretty does." Ihave used it a few times myself!

I have caught myself purposely laying a guilt trip on my kids so they would do what I wanted them to do - my mom was the master at that.

I'm guilty of "because I said so" but on the more positive side, I never thought I would just be really silly with my kids because I'm more reserved and quiet. Sometimes I find myself just surprising everyone (especially myself) by singing, dancing, goofing around - just getting silly along with the kids so we all laugh. It's something I never thought I'd do but I'm so glad.

Cleaning out boogies by hand or tasting his baby food.

BREASTFEED! I wasn't breastfed as a baby and my whole family thought breastfeeding was weird but my husband convinced me to give it a try. Almost 4yrs later and I've nursed all 3 of my children and thru a whole pregnancy :)

It definitly has to be the all time favorite.... "because I said so" or the embellished version "because Im the MOMMY, and I said so"

saying the infamous i brought you into this world I can take you out I have only said it once and have deeply regretted it ever since I swore I would never threaten physical harm

bribe them to get them to do things.

I thought I would be like super healthy mom.. always making my kids eat healthy. Well... They have had McDonald's quite a few times. lol

I swore never to let my children eat at McDonalds! Now that my little girl is 4 there is no getting around it!

My son is only 9 months so I have yet to encounter many of the true tests of motherhood, but I can definitely see the advantage of using snacks to distract at times...not something I want to make a big habit, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

Mostly, it's because I say so! I swore i'd not say it and I do :(

Telling my kids and grandkids..."When I was your age, I didn't have that privledge"...etc.etc.

It would probably be letting my son watch too much tv! He just LOVES it! I do have him outside and doing other activities... but he is definitely a tv kid..

Swore to never use "Because I said so!" Unfortunately I learned that sometimes thats the only answer to give.

Have too many toys!!! I swore our house would not look like a daycare playroom, but alas, having the first grandchild makes everyone bring things over constantly. Despite my best efforts, we have become "toy central"! I suppose there could be worse things...

My sister used to sneak some of my halloween and Easter candy. I always swore that when I had kids, I would never let that happen....uh-oh...guess what...I am the one guilty of sneaking some of my kid's candy, and never have caught the kids sneaking from each other! Well...after all, it WAS my duty to help fight tooth decay!!! Ha! :~D

Watching to much TV. My daughter is hooked :) She loves to watch tv but also plays outside and with her toys but she loves to have the tv on. LOL

i promise i will never wish twins on my daughter, like my mom did me.

Brush your teeth before they rot and fall out!

Make them sit at the table until their food in finished. I don't do this every meal but once in while.

I always hated hearing "School is not a fashion show!" And yet I say it just about everyday!

I always hated when I would ask my parents if I could do something and they would respond with "we'll see" because to me, that always meant no! I've found myself saying that sometimes too, because either I'm not really sure or I just don't really want to tell them no at that point. Now I know the meaning behind it.

I swore I would never let my child out of the house looking crazy, mismatched, and disheveled. It turns out that they have to learn to pick out their own clothes and comb their own hair sometime and if they want to now, then I'm not going to stop them. It just isn't a battle that I choose to have with them anymore. It is only clothes! :)

I always tell my kids that they have no idea how easy they have things today. Then I'll reference using the internet vs. using encyclopedias. Having a computer to type papers instead of a typewriter with whiteout. I know it is no different then when my parents told us they walked miles to school in 20 feet of snow.... It is too funny & I always said I would never compare our growing up stories.

I was certain that my child wouldn't have processed or sugary foods until he was at least in school. Hahah! Nope, my toddler regularly has fruit snacks, ice cream, potato chips, etc (all in moderation but still.) A good goal in a perfect world perhaps, but not in mine!

I said I wouldn't let my daughter watch TV until after she was two. Well, I made it to a year and now The Wiggles join us 2-3x a week.

I said I would not let my kids eat after brushing their teeth and they do about once a month! UGH
