Sure, I troll eBay now and then. And I win things occasionally. But what fuels me more than the possibility of owning said item is the lure of competition. I love checking the clock, hoping that I'll outlast the other bidders. While it may not be the healthiest of habits, it's definitely a stress reliever.
That's why I was psyched to discover the "reverse auction." While it's difficult to describe in a few short sentences, as the clock ticks down, the price drops until stock runs out. So the longer you hold out, the better price you'll receive. Unless, of course, they run out!
TheOutnet.com offers "Going, Going, Gone" sales, a reverse auction. Super nice, designer pieces. It's my new official hobby. (Don't judge!) Or check out oohilove.com. It's a slightly more traditional auction format, but the price increases only the number of bidders (so no one can put in a max bid and scoop it up). Patience, my friend. This site will teach you the art of patience. And who doesn't like a good deal, right?
