Irresistible Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mary Beth Evans

This recipe is for a single batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies.  I like to make a double batch and put them in a zip lock in the freezer. They are even better frozen!

Ingredients:

2 sticks of softened unsalted butter (I use a microwave to soften)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 ¼ Cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups of chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

In an electric mixer beat brown sugar, white sugar and the butter. My mixer is free standing so I crank it on and work on the other ingredients…basically beating it to death!

Add vanilla and eggs (one at a time) and continue beating until mixed thoroughly. Shut mixer off.

In a separate bowl sift the flour, baking soda and salt.  Turn mixer back on and slowly add to butter/sugar mixture. Add two bags of chocolate chips and beat until thoroughly combined.

Line cookie sheets with parchment paper (this makes a big difference). I use two tablespoons and drop out 12 to a cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes or until dark golden brown and flat. Remove cookies promptly and cool on rack.

Thanks, Mary Beth, for sharing your recipe. And great to see it in video too, because it helps to see how easy and quick these can be. I've really never considered freezing them, as you recommended, but I sure going to try it.

Thanks for sharing your recipe! I love how you make things easy without compromising on quaiity! It seems like a fun recipe to try! Love the freezing tip! I can not wait for more videos. This website is great and I keep reccomending it to friends.

Thanks for sharing your recipe Mary Beth. I gave it a whirl today, I have never made cookies before (i'm more of a cake person) & they worked a treat, though I have to admit that I had to google what 375 degrees is in Celisus?, what parchment paper is? (we call it baking paper), and how much a stick? of butter is? (113g of butter= 1stick apparently LOLOL) as I dont live in the States. It gets the thumbs up from me, kids loved them & foolproof for firsttimers.

I'm going to make these cookies soon. Thanks for the tip about freezing them. I like to keep cookies with me as a quick source of energy and to satisfy my hunger pangs, but the chocolate chips usually melt and get gooey. By freezing them, they should keep longer. Keep those videos coming.
