Do you own a business?: Yes

Please tell us more about the business and when you started it (or would like to start it):

What started as a way to preserve the memories of the fleeting moments that make up my own three children, has led to a phenomenal business opportunity to provide a valuable service to other busy mothers. I have always lived somewhat of a distance from my family, so it was important to be able to frequently update them as to the little personalities that were developing in my children. Beginning with my first child, I created semi-annual keepsakes that I distributed to friends and family, written in the voice of my child, describing their life as they saw it. The keepsakes were adored by all, and led me to realize that they were unique. Many parents do not have the time, energy or confidence in their abilities to dedicate to such an undertaking. As a professional ghostwriter, it was something that came somewhat natural to me. I started preparing keepsakes for friends and family about a year ago, and in April, 2009 officially launched my business, Thoughts to Remember. This provides me with a phenomenal creative outlet, while giving to others something that will be treasured forever.

How many children do you have?: 3

How would you define yourself as a hybrid mom?:

As a home-based business owner, the lines between work and family are constantly blurred. There frankly is no distinction; I straddle both worlds. That is one of the reasons why I started Thoughts to Remember. I wanted to create a business that centered around family and the importance of capturing the precious moments we have together.

Share one personal or business ambition:

I strive to have a successful, meaningful business so that my children can be exposed to the joys, trials and tribulations and ultimate rewards of entrepreneurship.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?:

Seeing my children learn a new skill or conquer a fear.

What one belief, factor or trait would you say has contributed most to your success (either personally or professionally)?:

My determination.

This sounds like an incredible business that you have started. So much so that I am going to look into purchasing some of these for my family members.
